I'm sinding in my order to Longfield gardens in the next couple days. http://www.longfield-gardens.c... There's a 20% discount plus free shipping on all orders and of course the more of a variety ordered the less they cost. Works out to very good pricing. I've been very happy with the bulbs I've gotten from them in the past. They're fresh, hard and produce beautifully and I think reasonably priced and customer service is beyond excellent. Anyway, if anyone wants to add your order to mine you're more than welcome. You'll get the discount and avoid shipping even if you only want a couple lilies or what ever. I wish I could say they'll come in time for the swap but they won't come until about March. Just let me know if you want to add on to my order.

Cool! Thanks for being willing to share the offer. Lily bulbs should "hold" OK in a cool location until the spring swap.

Speaking of which, I swung straight from holiday travels into home improvement and Disney prep and then our trip (returned yesterday afternoon), and I pretty much dropped the ball on spring lilies from Ednie's and/or ADR. I'll try to update that group buy thread over the weekend, and hopefully we can finalize choices at the swap -- I can make a signup list on a white board with varieties and numbers, and people will be able to see what's available or needed to complete a bulk bag order.

Yehudith, I'm interested in getting a 24-count bag of Lucifer crocosmia.

Mine were gobbled up by voles last year but I want to try again this year using some vole protection. They're great hummingbird attractors!

Aha, that's probably what keeps happening to those I plant also... what are you going to try, planting with alliums or garlic? Or dipping in something un-tasty?

Jill, do you want some of my bulbs? I have no idea where I would plant 24 of anything! Hilarious!

I'm going to try a few different things. I want to try vole block (the soil amendment) and other physical barriers. I wanted to get the bulbs and not live plants since I think they'd be easier to protect.

Yeduith, thanks for passing along the Longfield offer. I like that place.
I'd like four bags of Brodiaea Queen Fabiola. Thanks!

Where did you see the crocossomia? I can't find them. Just send me the URL and I'll add it to my list.

Thanks

Gardener,

Don't bother I found it. I was looking at it but because I was looking for something yellow (lucifer) it didn't compute. You're on the list.

SSG (or anyone else I'm likely to see at a swap sometime this year), my Lucifer crocosmia multiplied greatly between year 1 and year 2. I'd be happy to dig some up for you once they begin growing this season!

Thanks, Catmint! I think I'll go ahead with this order anyway. I probably need extras handy until I figure out the best method to deter these darn voles!

Catmint, they're there *all the time* but they're obviously very bad hunters. Big Grin

I think voles in general are hard to catch because they can hide so easily under mulch.

Hilarious!
I'd be happy to lend you ours--they seem to help with the vole population here!

I just sent in our order. If anyone wants to add on to it that's fine, they'r really nice and have allowed me to add on before I just didn't want to take a chance of missing the cut off. Shipping is the first week in March.
