Interesting insect! It is a cricket similar to a Bush Cricket, it appears to be a Tree Cricket.

Possibly Oecanthus sp.

Interesting! All I know are the standard old house crickets, and it's amazing to me that this is a cricket! I looked at all of the links, and it does look like the Californicus is the one. The distribution maps have it in our area. I'll have to look for more and see if I can hear their chirp.

I have the Oak Bush Cricket here, but they don't have wings like the Tree Cricket. The rest, i.e. body, head. legs looked much the same.
