Just got some Chirita tamiana seeds .. I've never started this family of plants before from seeds and can't find any germination information on them.

Do these guys want dark? light? don't care?

Anne, you will love the Chirita (Metapetrocosmea tamiana) They are great little Gesneriads. I haven't sowed seeds in a long time but I always just lightly sowed them atop moist potting medium, and put a thin layer of plastic wrap over top of the tray until they germinated. If not covered with plastic, you can mist regularly to keep the soil moist. C. tamiana likes bright light and high humidity (no direct sun) and they do really well in terrariums.

I got my original C. tamiana in a trade back in 2007 and it's been one of my favorite little plants for terrarium growing. When your plant produces seed pods, they will dry and turn brown; the pods hold many teeny, tiny little seeds.
