A few miles away I noticed streetside lamp posts at someone's house ..mini versions like the last photo I posted. Drilled.... Some with a candle or maybe an oil lamp as light source. Nice. Positive these are homemade...but thought I would look on the net and ran into these.

Oh my, I just now found this thread and I'm loving all the beautiful art! That first one of the button tree is so neat. I have tons and tons of old buttons .... maybe someday I'll have to consider doing something like that!

Love your granddaughter's snow mama, child and dog ... absolutely adorable!! Lovey dubby

So many great ideas here ... I used an old colander as a planter once, think it got left at our old house when we sold it last year. Sad I love that whitewashed tire planter!!

I know there is a short minute between art and tacky but i have to walk a fine line between the two because.....

1. The deer and other wildlife make it impossible for me to have any guarantee of color and bloom...and so...glass and tile and metal and clay rule the day ....

2. My family and friends give me things they think I will like and well.......l got to put it out.
I got to. Gifts of love. What can I do?

there is a fine line between art and tacky and also desperation, sometimes I just flat out don't care what it looks like, I hate the deer so bad! I will try anyyyyything! Grumbling

Yes...and that is why I collect bottles!

This is also what I do -- but I always end up giving away. The instructions will say use fishing line...DON'T DO IT...IT STIFFENS AND BREAKS FROM THE SUN.

Inexpensive. Easy. Delicate...
Difficult to photograph...because they sway in the breeze and cast beautiful " fairies" all over your garden

@plantladylin this may be a good way to use some of your pretty larger buttons. I anchor the strand at top and bottom with glass necklace pendants..pretty stones, small tinkling bells, and have not done so...but I think buttons will also be very pretty. I am on the hunt for a lightweight glass or metal cross to use in a memory garden

Whatever works is whimsical Rolling on the floor laughing my current whimsy is kitty litter bucket lids placed around newly planted tomatoes. Need to deter neighborhood cats from making the area a litter box Smiling
