I have 2 Gunthers' Prize, purchased from Naylor perhaps 6 years ago now. They have very good color and kind of crumpled looking leaves. They don't increase significantly for me, but have gotten a little bigger and more beautiful each year.

Gary,

I think they only sold them that one season, so mine is probably as old as yours. I'll have to look closer this year but my pictures from last year looks like the leaves are pretty smooth. I'm just glad it's still keeping its nice colors as I read of some that are solid yellow now.

I only have 2 plants that I know to be OS. Lakeside Black Mama, and Atom Smasher. Tissue culture sometime produces mutations, but mutations also occur in existing plants in our gardens.

My hosta are finally beginning to pop! I spent the day cleaning up some of the beds and planting some lily bulbs. Those with bright yellow leaves are really outstanding at this time of the year.I really like the large streaked variety Justice. It is in it's 3rd year and is looking to be quite the show this year.

Just checked out Justice in the Hosta library. Nice streaker and sounds like it's going to be a monster! We'd love to see some pictures of your hostas Gary.

I spent more than 6 hrs out in the yard today. Most of it was planting lilies. Empress Wu has ten huge eyes emerging! Should put on a show this year!

Wow! Dancing in the Rain, a sport of Blue Umbrellas, is stunning this year! It has been in the ground five years. Definitely worth the wait. The streaking is several shades of blue. My favorite large hosta for now!

That is one that has never done well for me. I've had two. The second one is still alive but very small...

Mine has been slow to develop too. This year however, it is 24' high by 36" wide. Each leaf is streaked differently.

Really like Blueberry Waffles, slow growing but fantastic texture and presence when mature, another one I just pick up called Blue Lettuce should be great when mature. Niagara Falls for its ruffled leaf, Spilt Milk is another favorite. Blue Vision and oldie but still great.

'Blue Angel' is my favorite. It's getting huge, and has beautiful blooms.

I visited a local hosta garden and found that babies of the same mature hosta look different!! I would comment on one and they said oh that is so and so. I would say ok, I have that one but mine is only a couple yrs old. The couple is in their 80s!
