Creek and paved road frontage, city water available from paved road. Land is partially wooded with oaks, pines, maples, dogwoods, holly, tulip poplar, black titi, the occasional pecan and fringe tree. The land slopes gently about 50-60 ft down to the creek. The creek is dammed about a mile from the property so torrential rains would top the dam and keep the land from flooding. The property used to belong to St. Joe Timber and was used as a pine forest. Most of the 30 yr pines were timbered off about 12 years ago leaving scattered pines, nearly all of the large hardwoods making for wooded as well as cleared areas with scattered woods. The land down by the creek has an area filled with the black titi woods which we call the "Disenchanted Forest" with the 30ft trees, about 15ft canopy and the twisted, muscular, mahogany trunks. It comes with the Florida Ag 2 exemption which means the land is used for agriculture, timber, conservation, etc. It also means that taxes are low. The land is rich; sandy/clay loam on top of clay base so water-retention is good.
Crops grown in our area are pecans, tomatoes, watermelons, sorghum, cotton, peanuts, hay, and corn. Recently, some citrus have been introduced. The Univ of Florida IFAS station offers plenty of help for growing things as well as a Master Gardener and/or Forester ratings. It is located about 40 miles down to the Gulf Coast and halfway between Pensacola and Jacksonville.
Asking price is $48,000 for 10 acres or $84,000 for 20 acres. Land up to 40 acres is possibly available. That would include over 1/4 mile of creek frontage as well as an additional clear spring-fed creek and would include an old stand of mountain laurel and Florida anise. Tree-mail me if interested.

I see 84 views... that means I'm not the only one who clicked just to ooh and aahh. Thanks for including the photos -- they give a great sense of the location, I think. Hopefully this posting will lead you to the right buyer, inclined to both conservation & agriculture!

I'm glad so many people are looking at this. My hope is that someone who loves gardening, nature, and a peaceful place and wants/needs more land would take me up on this.

Thanks, Ken. If I can sell even 10 acres, we can finish building our house and get out of the camper. All luck and wishes gratefully accepted.

Thanks, Frillylily. I expect to see you next week! LOL. You should see the place in spring. We also have tons of wildlife and birds because of all the different habitats. We have a very shy bobcat, some foxes, turkeys, deer, and we found bear tracks down at the diagonal creek across the property one morning after a night rain. That creek is now called Bear Foot Creek - only saw it once during the 13 years here but that was enough to name the creek.

Hey Barb....where is your land located?? Wasn't sure from your description since Pensacola is on the west side of Florida and Jacksonville is on the east side. I used to live in Havana on 164 acres...hwy. 159 if I remember.

You can always "visit" the snow, Marilynne. In my younger years, I loved to take two, one-week vacations, skiing the Rockies. Never wanted to live in the stuff though. Whistling

Hi Ginger,
We are up by the Georgia border, northwest of Quincy and about 15 miles to Havana. We had originally picked out some property just where 159 and 159A met but the land owner decided at the last minute not to sell. We found this parcel in Quincy just off of Glory Rd and the Golf Club of Quincy.
