I spent time with no toilet at all, spent time using an outhouse (complete with spiders and a door that wouldn't stay closed) and spent time with a flush toilet but no water to flush it with. Nowadays I feel rich. Now we can all sit, plop, and flush. heheheh....

Shoe I grew up in the country and all we had was an outhouse too, but to the best of my recollection the door stayed closed.

I'm off camping for about 10 days, talk to all of you when I return home.

We had an outhouse on the farm for all those folks who came over to visit and ride horse... we actually had one with 2 "holes"!! And the door stayed closed too - had a little latch on it to lock it!

I remember we had to move it cause the holes got "full"!!

Margaret let us know if there were out houses on your camping trip or if you had to dig a hole!!

Reminds me of the movie "Up", when little Russell asks, "Do you dig the hole before or after?... Oh, it's before!!"

Christine there are outhouses and flushers, we have a trailer so I have my own flusher.

Have fun camping! I've always liked it best in the cooler part of the year, ya gotta have a camp fire to sit around, ya know.

Kinda makes ya wonder what entices those future projectiles to take up residence in a pile of poop, eh? Wondering about the ingredients that make a pile appear to be the perfect "fixer upper", the perfect home place to settle down and raise the young'ns. And never any worries about out-growing the abode 'cus the kids will one day projectile themselves off into who-knows-where and take up residence in their very own pile.
