Wandasue, I eat all purslane, but always make sure it is purslane. Spurge is a copy cat looking plant. YUCKY and will make you sick.

I have never tried to freeze it. I wouldn't think it would be all that great.

Portulaca oleracea is the botanical name of purslane.

I googled purslane seeds and got several hits so you may want to try that.

Many nurseries including Home Depot and Lowes carry the plants this time of year.

I'm seeing where you live so if you are out of the country, not sure what your options will be.
