She wrote above that she placed the order at Regans. They had some in stock earlier but were sold out. That's the same place I picked up the Dark Night for her.

I took pictures of Ketchup & Mustard when it was still a test rose in 2009. What a vibrant bloom!!

Betty, tree roses are nice because they don't take up much room, you can still plant underneath them!
My pink hulthemia is still doing fine, bloomed a couple of times, lost some leaves. I have had it it filtered sun, it was so delicate looking I was afraid to place it in more sun. I just added some Rose Tone a couple of days ago so hopefully that will give it a boost.

Great idea! I have some Rose Tone too, so I'll doctor it a bit tomorrow. I had it on my patio table and I think the late afternoon sun fried it a bit and I didn't notice, but thank heavens I discovered in time that it's still got some green wood there.

I want tree roses to put in my front flower bed up by the house, and only tree roses show at all from the bottom of the hill. Everything below about two feet doesn't show from the street. It's not easy having a ski slope for a front yard! And thanks for the pictures of K&M -- I think I have to have it too! (And those great pictures weren't in the database as of about three hours ago...)

I know, I still need to label them, I didn't find out what it was until this summer since it was only labeled with test numbers and kept forgetting to add them.

Toni, S&W Greenhouse is also selling Ketchup & Mustard (for a few dollars less, in fact) and they're already taking orders, but they ship everything out in February and won't hold plants for later shipping, so they're no good for you.

However, here's a sneak peek at some 2013 roses, which they're selling now:

http://www.sw-greenhouse.com/M...

Twilight Zone is pretty, but I really resent Weeks' use of that name for this new rose because it's already the name of a stunning 1996 J.B. Williams grandiflora and it's just going to confuse people.

http://cubits.org/roses/db/ros...

Some of the photos on the S&W site are freakishly inaccurate. Take a look at Aloha. This is supposed to be the Boerner Aloha, which is just plain pink, not cuckoo orange-magenta:

http://www.sw-greenhouse.com/M...

And here's something else that's interesting on the S&W site. Hybrid hulthemias must be very popular all of a sudden. They're carrying one hybridized in England:

Bull's Eye isn't listed on the HMF site yet, but here's the page for Peter James, the hybridizer:

I hope some of his other roses come over here soon. I love Art Nouveau, Blue for You, and Eyes for You.

I would dearly love to have Art Nouveau, it's so unique!

Betja, I have Vavoom potted up on my deck, and have really enjoyed it this summer. Lots of vibrant color.

Oh, now we can make a new entries for all these new roses, Betty, as soon as those are done, you'll need to add that lovely shot of EYECONIC LEMONADE.

Today, DH & I went to a little hole-in-the-wall burger joint near downtown denver which happens to be right in front of a nursery called Country Fair. They're having a 25% off sale on all their shrubs & trees and they classified the roses as part of the shrubs on sale. I found a huge Koko loco & a massive Dick Clark, so they came home. :)

I've created an entry for Eyeconic Lemonade in the database. It will take a few hours before the database search engine will be able to find it, so you'll have to look for it directly on the last page of the "E's" or just use this link:

http://cubits.org/roses/db/ros...

It's sort of sketchy, but I'll add more information when we know more about it. Meanwhile, when I went to the Regan site to get some info on this rose and Eyeconic Pink Lemonade, I found that the latter is already sold out. I'm so glad I didn't procrastinate in placing my order. I may have been the last to get the pink one.

Zuzu,

Not sure if you saw this already, but here's a PDF fact sheet about it:

Thanks, Mike. That gave me some information about fragrance and clustering that I didn't have before.

Sue, is there any chance that you can find those photos you posted in DG of the test roses in the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden (or maybe the Heritage Rose Garden)? The multicolored hybrid hulthemia you posted looked like the Eyeconic Pink Lemonade we saw. I found them once, but I didn't bookmark them.

Well, that was easier than I thought it would be. I remembered I had said one of the roses was Polka, so I just searched for that. Here's the whole thread:

And for people who don't have access to DG, I took the liberty of copying Sue's photo to post here. This is what the pink one looked like in person -- lots of multicolored blooms, not just pink.

Those Hulthemias are really something. The only one I have is Persian Peach. I almost lost it two years ago, but transplanted it, and it has had two bloom cycles this year. The blooms don't last long, but I'm glad to have them.

Betja, here's a photo of Vavoom taken this afternoon.

Plus a few close-ups. Here's Pompom Flower Circus, with the greenish tinted exterior petals that surround the deeply cupped, and deeply pink, interior.
