Dave, is there a propagation forum or one that covers taking cuttings, rooting techniques and tips from other members?

No, but we have a forum that covers all gardening topics that don't have a specific forum:

http://garden.org/forums/view/...

Feel free to start your threads about propagation in that forum!

Would it make sense to add Propagation to the Seeds forum? Maybe call it "Seeds and Propagation?"

When the time is right for splitting up forums and adding new ones, here's my wish list:

1. Salvia and Agastache (they already seem to have a lot of traffic in Cottage Gardening)

2. Soil Improvement and Compost (not much traffic now)

3. Raised Beds (almost no traffic, sigh, no point in a forum if there's little interest)

I'm glad that the "Greenhouse" forum includes cold frames and hoop tunnels, but "Garden Structures" seems to be only about trellises and arbors.

But the feature i'm most eagerly awaiting is a "seed trading" feature, which I assume needs the "Plants database" as a pre-requiste.

Actually, I'm holding out for a "Seed Begging" forum. Hilarious!

Rick, "Garden Structures" seems to be only about trellises and arbors because it was split off from the Clematic Cubit when it moved here. The former owner of the Clematis Cubit had a business and sold those trellises and arbors.

I would love to see it encompass much more. Sue recently made a gazebo out of a discarded satellite TV dish and I hope she posts photos of the process in that forum.

We did have a Propagation Forum within the Seeds Cubit. There are some threads there that you can visit and post to if you wish
http://cubits.org/Germination/...

When the Seed Cubit moved here to ATP, Dave moved the forums and threads within to where he saw fit at ATP. So some threads about annual plants from seed went to Annuals at ATP, threads about tomatoes from seeds went to tomatoes forum at ATP, etc Some threads went to other forums at ATP. We also gained new threads that didn't start at the Seed Cubit. So Dave is putting things where he wants them here at his new site. The fact that he mentioned putting propagation threads on this All Things Gardening forum makes me think this is where he wants such discussions to stay for now. I imagine a Propagation forum will be forthcoming here some day.

I understand why Dave wants to limit the number of forums now. But I think a few topics are sorely missing, like "Perennials". I hope our webmaster will consider adding a few forums soon. (hint)

I just added a thread '' garden sheds'' to the garden structures forum, the way to expand a forum is to start a thread of your interest and hope others will follow Smiling
