I'm a "returning fan" of dahlias. As a child I remembered my grandma growing them and thought they were wonderful. Then as I grew up, dahlias sort of fell out of fashion and I forgot about them. A few years back a friend gave me a few tubers and I've become a big fan again. I've only got a few varieties yet, but I'm hoping to add a few this summer!

I hope you have fun with your new dahlia's. Post pictures for us. I wonder if I am crazy to plant so many dahlia's, but the flower lasts for so long and are so beautiful.

I am suddenly completely smitten with those little pompom type dahlias. The first time I saw them I thought "ugh" then for some reason, I took a second look and another.... I think they would be really lovely in a mixed border...a little "lighter" than the big flowered varieties.

I have a few, actually they are my husbands favorite dahlia. He does love the form. I have a few here and there mixed with my other flowers, but my love are the formal decorative dinnerplate and the waterlily. I have ordered some of each this year. (Maybe many more that I should have.)
Thumb of 2016-02-23/MyRee/f6b3c3 this is one of my favorite waterlily dahlia's. I don't know the name, but I have ordered some very similar.

Thumb of 2016-02-23/MyRee/177986 This is a little ponpom you would probable enjoy.

So pretty! I am definitely going to use dahlias throughout my mixed borders. But this year's big project is to make a brand new bed just for my dahlias. (well, some other things too, to fill it in!). Im hoping to start on that as soon as the snow melts
