Thread OP

Who is growing this plant and can give advice on its likes and dislikes? From what I understand bright shade and moist soil and temps above 50f with humid conditions.

Yes; it's a rainforest understory plant; bright to deep shade I would say.

I love it. Had it. Killed it. It likes shade and more humidity than I could give it indoors. It did look like it died one year. There was nothing in the pot but dirt. I put the pot outside that summer and it came back. So even if you think it is dead it might not be dead. It finally died for real one winter.

The plant name is......... Dottie.

I love the colors on your calathea. I agree with everyone's comments. I can't offer much help, as mine struggle through the winter indoors along with some of the maranthas. In the spring, I put them all outdoors in the shade and they bounce right back. They regrow from rhizomes. Thumbs up
