I'm not sure if I like spaceage or not, but I am definitely drawn to flounces rather than horns. Has anyone had any issues with flowers opening improperly due to the horns/flounces?
I'm trying these out to see how I feel about them:
I've grown several of these solar fire glacier point thornbird osay canuc conjuration alien mist all wonderful growers many still here I had all George Sutton's up to 06 most were very strong growers.
Name: Niki Bend, Oregon (Zone 6a) Flowers are food for the soul.
My conjuration was in a pot in the soil because I couldn't cut it out. By the time I asked my husband to help remove it, it had busted its own way out. I think it's happier outside the pot though.

Liz - I have not had any problem with spoons and flounces not opening correctly, but I know that sometimes the iris will only produce a horn instead of a flounce. Then there are those like Thornbird where the early blooms give me a spoon and the later blooms only horns. I think different areas experience different success with flounces.

Oooo that 'Special Feature' looks nice!
I'd rather have flounces than horns - I think they add substantially to the bloom. But sometimes, horns can make the bloom. I fell in love with the photos of 'Alien Mist'.
