I received Aslan as a bonus plant in the Fall of 2013 I believe. It bloomed the first year (2014) and while it wasn't one I would have picked I thought it was rather nice. However, it did not bloom in 2015. I have had several colder than normal winters since acquiring it so I'm hoping it's just adjusting to the climate.

Update: Aslan eventually died. It could not handle the cold, rarely snowy winters and the wild temperature swings in the early spring. I would not recommend it for northern growers unless they had fairly continuous snow cover in the winter and gradually warming springs.

Aslan is an outstanding garden daylily, as are most of Jeff Corbett's intros..

Aslan only bloomed for two years of the four years that I had it. I did use it in crosses but only got one seedling. The cross was Aslan x Oriental Silk. The seedling that sprouted in 2016 finally bloomed for the first time in 2021.

The flower size is significantly smaller than either parent.
