Maybe one of the Dudleyas? ... leaf doesn't appear quite right for D. densiflora but they can look quite different when they are young.

Yes, I know of Fish Canyon. You grew up in CA? Almost 40 years there for me, as you know. Just love the flora and fauna there ... a beautiful and diverse state from top to bottom.

I was born and grew up in Los Angeles county. Spent a lot of time camping in the San Gabriel Mountains. Even got caught in a wildfire while camping and was rescued by Eagle Scouts and my dad with a crew from Los Angeles City Water And Power.

Gasteria aloe??

Hmmm, wonder. Sure wish I hadn't lost the plant. I have seen some of the Gasteria aloes, they didn't have the delicate texture that this plant had.

Wow, a 5 year old blast from the past thread!

And I am so sad that I lost this plant before it bloomed.
