Lots of interesting stuff there, Shoe.

Days like these I feel much shorter than I really am, much smaller than I prefer, about half my size, a miniature form of my usual tall self.

Yup, I've been there.

"Mental fodder", eh? Dawgs, you have me wanting to go back and re-read my own words! Smiling

But trust me, 99% written in jest/fun, 1% just yet another musing.

I'm probably more at home writing about poop and pokeweed....

Thanks...

Fine as frogs hair here. Two tornadoes were said to be nearby, one a couple miles from me but I don't think it ever touched down OR it was just one of those swirling air masses. We got nearly an inch of rain though so that was good. Just now started pouring down again...rain on a tin roof is music to my ears so I'm content. No doubt Dave would love to hear rain on any kind of roof due to Texas drought conditions.

Christine, didn't ya'll have a lot of flooding up your way earlier this year? Or maybe I'm thinking of Missouri, not Mn. Maybe we should have big pipelines zigzagging across the country, with various valves to open and close. This way when there is excess water in one are we flip a valve and route it to desert Texas, or La, or several years ago it could've been sent to me in NC. Would be nice to see water instead of oil being run through pipelines, eh?

No flooding up here.... we just had a late spring like all. And then went right into Summer! Shrug!

I also think we should have pipelines all over, then we could send water to Texas to Dave too!!! I tip my hat to you.

Yep, poor Dave/Trish/Texans...they need water. I'll get them to rain dance soon, that should help matters if their whole family contributes! :>)

Vic, I'm ready to go fishing again, soon. It's one way to relax, basically meaning to leave the farm and go somewhere else. Course now, I remember the time me and Bernie Barnaby were fishing in Uncle Susie's pond when Tripod, Bernie's 3-legged coon dog, started pulling in the biggest fish we'd ever seen come outta that pond. Well, you might not believe this next part....but then again, I won't bore ya'll with the outcome. Rolling my eyes.

Happy Weekend, Folks!

Vic, my life's philosophy is that it's perfectly normal to talk to yourself, and perfectly normal to answer yourself. The only time to worry is when you catch yourself going "huh? Wha'd you say?" Hilarious!

Shoe - fishing sounds like a wonderful way to spend an hour or ten...glad you listened to yourself. Smiling

Those tornadoes that day...they touched down on three sides of me here north of hotlanta...each was 5-10 miles away, but still.... the good news is, all I got from the Labor Day storms was 2+ inches of much-needed rain, and way-better temps -- have had doors/windows open all week and not running the a/c. Heavenly!

Uh-ohh, guilty as charged. Rolling my eyes.

This is money-saving season, isn't it? No AC running up the bill, no heat on, fresh air in abundance and it, too, is free!

Glad you survived and benefited from Irene, Mary.

Thanks, Shoe, but it wasn't Irene - it was Lee. Irene didn't come anywhere near Georgia, thank goodness.

and yes, I *love* the money-saving season. Smiling I'm lucky -- the folks who built my house moved to GA from Cleveland OH... it's well insulated, so I don't have to turn on a/c until after lunch, most days (I work from home). I do get ALL the afternoon sun, though. SW exposure, and when I moved in there were no shade trees in the front yard. Now, I'm just waiting for the ***stops to count trees she can see from her window*** six trees I can see from my office window to grow tall enough to provide shade.

Yep, LEE, I was still thinking Irene which we got barely any rain from considering how huge a storm it was. I got more rain from Lee than Irene.

You'd be surprised how trees can grow over the years. I have some now that used to be wimpy saplings and are now taller than the house by far. My DD's first Christmas tree, a real Charlie Brown thing was planted in the front yard and is now so big you can climb it (if you want cedar needles down your pants and shirt).

Speaking of trees, time to go unload a trailer full of firewood.

Happy Day!
