Number of items I have planted so far since Christmas. Almost all were seeds - 3 eldeberry cuttings, 2 colocasia. Most everything in 72 cell trays - about 1/2 on heat mats and all under lights.

One of the weirdest things was crinum "seeds"/bulbils. Those honkers are freaking HUGE. Of course, I won't see blooms for 4 years or so -- Shrug!

Have ~ 200 Milkweed seed of ~ 23 species. > 60 are tender in my zone, including both of the Calotropis. Big Grin And yes, I planted Family Jewels.

I am maybe 1/2 done. But I have far more seeds than I can plant. Need more space. Of course if the weather keeps up its current pace, I will be in my pretend greenhouse by late March rather than the usual late April. The GH can hold ~ 500 seedlings, so the sooner I move to there, the sooner I can start more seed in the Torture Chamber.

I planted some tomatoes and peppers indoors yesterday. Today I will get some delphiniums planted. It has been unusually mild for a Minnesota winter, I think the frost may actually have gone out of the ground in some areas. The standing water has vanished and my soil is sandy so I think it went into the ground.

Tell me about it!! Thumbs up One of the reasons my wife refers to my absement grow are as "The Torture Chamber". My Brugmansia look near death. Best looking plant is my variegated Oleander - still looks perfect. Mandavilla and Dipladenia - not so much!

And My two Ginger plants in my Living Room look a bit ragged. Plumeria is still doing fine.

But I do have some Commiphora Neglecta I grew from seed last year that are starting to pop some new leaves!! Hurray!

Winter non-existent here in NW Missouri. Snowed twice - total between the two of ~ 2 inches. No more at all for a month. Soil is freaking dust. 60 today. And yesterday. Well over 70 a couple times in past two weeks. Freaking El Nino/La Ninya ...grr.

Is this not a couple weeks early for tomatoes? For our Master Gardener Sale (end of April) we are not starting for another week or two. Last year we started about this time and they were way too leggy. Started in an elaborate expensive GH.

I have not planted tomatoes since I moved here 6 yrs ago. I was taking care of my Mom and did not pick the ones I planted. They died and dropped to the ground and they self seed every year. Now I just leave a few on the plant at the end of the season. I have tomato plants I have to pull out I have so many.

I had tomato plants growing in the cracks of my walkway. (The plants are in the back) I guess the birds and the deer drooled a couple tomatoes seeds out of their mouth as they were walking back to the neighbors yard. Rolling on the floor laughing

It may be a bit early. Last yearI was disappointed with the plants I produced, It varies from year to year. It has been a very mild winter here and I had the urge to do something with dirt. One year I had gallon sized plants a every light source. It was a great year for tomatoes!

Up well over 800 seeds started. Lots have not germinated but some to be expected - e.g. banana.

This would be VERY early for me to start tomatoes... I don't normally start them until April 15th (with the expectation of planting them out around June 1st). But I agree that this could be an early spring, there can't be much frost in our ground right now either.

We start tomato inside this coming week in our zone for planting outside just after Mothers Day to be safe. Around here, if you plant late April or early May outside, you often have to replant when they get trashed by weather. Not worth it to me. Last year we had first tomatoes before 4th of July.
