I have never seen this before. I do get prolifs but the normal single kinds. This time I have three prolifs along the same scape.




Look at the scape and then follow along from the top down and you will clearly see all three of them. I have been letting them grow and they have gotten really big by now. They already look like real daylily plants!

Usually I wait until my prolifs get little air roots (and they have always done that) then I cut and put in water to devolop more roots or sometimes just plant right away next to the mother plant. But this time they haven't started roots on their own yet and just continue to get bigger plants! The scapes are starting to brown so I will have to cut them. Anything special I should do this time because I have a triple?

I also have a single prolif which is the kind I normally get on another plant.



Here is my single prolif on NEWBERRY FESTIVAL. It is quite big by now too and I need to put it into water to develop roots.

It is raining today so I haven't been out in the garden today. I had taken these pictures yesterday.

Ooh, I remember your SUGAR PLUM JAM! That's fantastic! I had some prolif's when I planted my last bed, and I think only one had roots, and I just cut them off and planted them alongside the plants and then I made sure I watered really well every day for a couple of weeks -- and they all appear to have taken.

I would put these in water being its some you really want, like Betty most of mine are just planted next to the mother plant.

I cut them and put them all three in one container. Now to wait for some roots to grow.

I cut my Sherbet & Cherries prolif this morning. Crossing my fingers it grows roots & thrives. ~j

Things sure do work fast on those prolifs. I only put them in water on Thursday, today is Saturday and I see little nubs of the white roots already when I changed the water today.

The nubs were real roots that I could see today so I planted them today. Put them all next to momma plant.

I also cut and planted that last single prolif I had. I didn't even put it in water to get roots, just planted it next to momma plant. I have never done it that way before. I usually put them in water if they don't have roots. But I am trying something new.

Did not know Daylilies did this! Very interesting!

I shipped a seedling today that had 10 prolifs on it, they all had roots and I put them all in the box and sent them to the buyer, it stated on the auction that you get all of the plant. I also got 12 prolifs from Lillian's Lies And Alibis, but they were on four plants not just one.

Wow, Fred that is amazing. I didn't think a daylily could get that many prolifs.

That is amazing, Fred. About a month ago I planted a couple of prolif's that did not have roots, and they seem to still be going strong. I can't even remember which plants they were on in that bed, but everything looks very green and healthy and the prolif's are in there somewhere...
