I've had excellent experiences with the LA, met some great seller via email communications and sometimes in person, gotten plants, found sellers near me - some of them on here. Happy with LA.

I tried the Lily Auction but I became unhappy with the small plants I received. Lesson learned. I now order from the hybridizer's websites or from reputable sellers on Facebook.

Lisa, I think we are in the same boat I am trying to downsize but it doesn't seem to be working well lol.
Theresa, sorry that you got small plants. I have been pleased with most of mine put I keep it to sellers that I know. I won 2 Rice cultivars on the LA. Annettemagic is their sellers name on the LA.
I love going to gardens in the summer, nothing better than seeing one bloom!!
I use both the lily auction and facebook. Both have pro's and con's. I have sold lots of seeds on the lilyauction and some plants. With the lilyauction you can get more bids and sometimes sell a product for more than you expected. Facebook the product sells for the listed price.
Everything is free on facebook , so anyone can create a page or a group. Facebook seem to attract a-lot of new people so you never know if you will get paid. On the lilyauction Mike Is there to back a seller up. There are also fees associated with the lilyauction .
I only buy from a small number of people on the lilyauction and have gotten some excellent deals. I usually don't buy much off of facebook unless I know who I am dealing with.
Facebook is also a good way to promote your business because you can create as many pages as you want for free. When new intro's come out they usually appear on facebook first and some are sold out even before the general public has seen the plant.
They tend to send plants that are on the smaller side from what I've seen posted here in the past. I have not bought from them and probably would not buy from them.
It'll be fine. You'll get blooms if not this year then next year. It's been several years since I've ordered from them. You could have done worse. Springhill and the other so called nurseries send you a root in a plastic bag. At least your daylilies won't be in a plastic bag.
Do you mind if I ask, What cultivars did you order?

My first dl order was from Wilds about 10 years ago. I think mine had been dug forever, they were very freeze dried looking. They did survive but it took 2 yrs for them to bloom. Good Luck
I did get a chance to list a few of my plants on the Lily Auction today. Just so time consuming
That's my fear, Teresa! I'm new to DL after growing up with my mom's DL gardens but not learning much. I first placed an order with Wilds and am expecting 20 plants this afternoon to plant in a border. I'm afraid they will not meet my hopes after learning much, much more here on the forum! Since then I've ordered some goodies from Park Lane and some perennials from Brecks. I keep looking at the auction, but I'm scared since I have no idea who great suppliers might be there! I'm sure looking forward to a DL summer!
I use the LA to sell and buy. I've bought from a couple of the FB groups but I think there's a much wider audience on the auction and I like the way one can track everything with them.
