Salvia involucrata 'Hadspen' grows quickly when it warms up. Mine needed to be on some kind of support such as a trellis of some kind. In the pic I had that tied to the guardrails on the deck. Flowers were very pretty and large. I started a cutting easily and stuck that one in the ground next to the house to see if it would survive my winter. I went out just today and found some growth already!

Duane,

That's wonderful that it is showing some growth. You'll have to post new pics of it this summer.

I grown Roseleaf Sages before 'Hidalgo' and 'Mulberry Jam'. Hidalgo gets pretty large, so I usually grow Mulberry Jam. They're annuals (tender perennials) for me and die with the frost/freeze each year. I grew them in large containers. Lucky you to live in zone 8a.
