I took this picture today at our Botanical Garden where it was described as Dracaena mauritiana. A check with the Plant List told me this has been renamed Cordyline mauritiana. I now have my doubts that it is either since it does not display the fan-shape leaf structure that typifies C. mauritiana. Any ideas?

It does look like a Dracaena, but can't find which one. You're right that it doesn't match the suggested species.

I hope someone will be able to identify it.

Is that your only pic of it? I would compare it to 'Janet Craig.' Not the 'Compacta,' just the regular JC.

Photos of Cordyline mauritiana with a close up of leaves which do look like this plant. The flower spike seems to hang on a longer stem though.

Can you get a closer shot of the fruits? Also look to see how the leaves are arranged on the stem.
