Our database writes for Ismene deflexa : Ismene x defexa while it is not a hybrid? Same counts for its synonyms.

It appeas that we only have hybrids listed in our database, perhaps the species just hasn't been added to the ATP database yet?

~ The Catalogue of Life lists it as: Ismene deflexa Herb. Species accepted name

Ismene x deflexa is a hybrid taxon, a spontaneous cross of Ismene longipetala and Ismene narcissiflora. Entries in the Catalogue of Life never include the "x" in the names of hybrid taxa, although they usually do include the information that the name is a hybrid taxon. Unfortunately, the Ismene listings in the CoL are based on data from Kew, which never include that information. The "x" is included in the name in the GRIN and Plant List entries:

Spot on Zuzu. Unfortunately when the Kew World Checklist is the source you need to go there to determine if a taxon is a hybrid. Shrug!
