This is not "Opalina" but another plant or hybrid from the group of Mexican Crassulaceae. There are several pictures like this. Do you have any information which might help ID the plants, so they can be placed in the right listing? If you compare them to pictures of the real Opalina, like the one immediately below, you can see the leaves should be a different shape (fatter, rounder, more boat-shaped). The flowers should be partly closed because of the Echeveria parentage. And the way Opalina grows from leaves is different.

Please let me know what you think. Here are the other photos I'm talking about.

TY for your suggestion. They are all pics of the same plant. I wasn't sure from your wording if you suspect all pics are not in the correct DB entry, or if you are comparing one pic to the others? This plant came from cactuscollection.com VIA a BBS, with a label.

...and I had no idea this had been posted until my attention was drawn to it by your post in my discussion about this plant in C/S forum. I thought a discussion started about a pic one had uploaded was supposed to alert the person who uploaded the pic. I check my "your posts" icon at least daily.

Thank you. I'm sorry about the confusion and appreciate your response. All the pics which I included in the first post (13 plus the one at the top) are not Opalina. If you have any idea where to put them, that would help (even if it's a parent listing, like the one for Graptopetalum). It would be great to keep these pics in the database, whatever plant they are. It wouldn't show up in "your posts." It would show up on your home page as one of your watched threads.

TY, Zuzu! My bookmark for this site is the page that lists the forums. I thought "your posts" and watched threads were the same thing. Could you please explain the difference?

Baja, TY for your comments. It's not uncommon for a label to be wrong, I think you may be onto something. Without any impertinence intended, just in the interest of sharing your desire for a correct ID, may I ask how you arrived at the ID of your plant?

I was looking for more pics (than the 1-pic-per-plant @ that website) of similar plants sold by cactuscollection.com and found this Graptosedum 'Very Higgins':
http://www.sedumphotos.net/v/s...
http://pics.davesgarden.com/pi...

A search for bloom pics of Graptosedum only turned up pinterest/flickr, but they were all identical to the flowers on my plant. I had that in my list at one time. It's possible I mixed them up and they were labeled correctly.

Yes, that could be it. If you are comfortable with the ID then maybe it would be good to move the pictures. If you want confirmation on the Plant ID forum, go for it. I do not have any experience with Vera Higgins but the pictures look close to your plant.

I know Opalina from having seen it here and there for years. It is reasonably common and unusually large for this kind of hybrid. My own plant is 7 or 8 years old (having been beheaded and restarted once during that period).

Two good references if you are curious for more info...

Tiffany, "your posts" only lists the posts you have made. If you haven't posted in a thread, it won't show up there until you have.

"Watched threads" lists all of the threads you are watching, plus any threads created because of comments on the photos you have contributed. The "watched threads" aren't necessarily threads in which you have posted. I "watch" a lot of threads just because I'm interested in the discussion, although I might never contribute any posts to that discussion myself.

It might be better to use the home page as your bookmark, or at least to go to your home page daily.

@Baja_Costero I've requested the pics be moved to the parent entry for Graptosedum since there are a couple cultivars that are too similar to unquestionably attach one, but unanimous support for Graptosedum everywhere I asked. Thanks again for saying something!

And P.S. I looked through the pics you've added here and it's an amazing collection of beautiful shots! A total wow-fest!

Zuzu, I will try to correct my habits! TY for the explanation!

Glad to hear you found a home for these pictures. Thank you for the kind words and acorns. I hope to get a lot more succulent pictures into the database, so stay tuned.... Smiling

Definitely! Looking forward to that! Those kinds of plants are uncommon where I am, in swampy, humid south AL.
