I hear there are only 400 aloe species. I have searched and not yet found any names for this one. Can you help me?

Very nice! Not sure they're the same but compare to A. bellatula: Fianarantsoa Aloe (Aloe bellatula)

The leaves certainly look like A. bellatula but I don't like that flower. How about A. fragilis?

I have seen this recently while serving the internet looking for an ID on a different Aloe, have to remember where. I do not think it is either A. bellatula or A. fragilis, plant forms and flowers not quite right.

Thank you, Hetty and Karen. The site is very much geared towards Agaves - there are very many awesome threads on there with photos from Agaves in habitat, in Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, and just recently also Mexico.
The Aloe gallery was mostly put together by Geoff, who used to be Palmbob on DG for those of us who came to ATP from there. He does not claim to be an expert but in my book he is, having seen in cultivation and grown himself so many different Aloes in southern California.

The leaves do look like A. bellatula, but they are straight and are not twisty like mine. The flowers do look like A. fragilis; however, the leaves are nothing like fragilis. Maybe it is a hybrid. The curved "twisted leaves are what I love most about it and it is almost always in bloom. Thijs, thanks for the new reference site. I do like Agaves. I have a 350 foot fence of Agave americana on one property line, like I saw in Mexico.

While searching for another Aloe noid I found my answer to the aloe above. It is Aloe bakeri. I still have not found this one. I wish the online databases would have photos first, followed by names. Is anyone familiar with this one?
