Danny, I have a few mini stellas and, although I haven't counted buds etc. I can tell you that they increase quite fast. I've had to divide mine every 3 years or they get to crowded. Mine blooms in the fall as well as spring. I don't have answers to your questions about using it to hybridize
This is the only picture I have of it planted near the grave of my miniature schnauzer in her memorial bed. I had just planted it there at that time as I was just beginning to put the bed together.

Mini Stella has only two daylilies registered as offspring. MS was registered in 1983. That might mean it's not a great hybridizing plant. But... if you want rebloom, maybe you could get that from Jablonski's flowers. It wouldn't hurt to try, if you don't mind the size, color and short scapes of MS. We have a bunch of miniatures and smalls, and keep buying more. And, yes, we hybridize. David

I am interested to MS because I would begin a hybridation program around the black color in all its form (mini, spider, double,...)
So I try to do the good choiced to the parents of this program

Dany, I'm just wondering why 'Mini Stella' if you are hybridizing for black? 'Mini Stella' has yellow flowers.

Oh, now I understand, good luck with your hybridizing! I do have 'Mini Stella' here but I haven't paid attention to its bud count and branching, and don't hybridize, so I can't really help with your questions.
