Dot those are fabulous Pics. I have crosses with Talladega, Wild Irish and Larry's Obsession. The Pics. of the Hybridizers are nice but yours are so much nicer and truer colors. Makes me excited to see these seedlings bloom. Thanks for posting them.

Wow, thanks for all the compliments. I spend so much time taking pictures, that sometimes I wonder why I bother. I really love looking at others pictures also.

Those are real beauties, Dot! I have WISPY RAYS, LARRY'S OBSESSION and TALLADEGA too. I just got WISPY RAYS and haven't gotten it in the ground yet, and LARRY'S OBSESSION did not bloom this year for me but I have high hopes for next spring! The one that did bloom but I must confess I was disappointed with when I saw it was TALLADEGA, but that was because I'm pretty new to daylilies and expected to see the fire engine red color that was in the hybridizer's picture. In fact, I was so disappointed that I almost gave it away! But I'm a little wiser now and realize that so many of those pictures have been color enhanced, so when it blooms again in the spring I can appreciate it with no great expectations because it really is a very pretty daylily. And your picture is the true color I remember -- you really captured it!

If anyone is interested in seeing the picture I purchased TALLADEGA from, here is the Floyd Cove link:

http://www.distinctly.on.ca/fl...

Scroll down on the left side until you hit "Previous Introductions of Patrick Stamile," and click on "Talladega". That's the color I was expecting when I purchased it!

Betty, I totally understand about the disappointment in the color of Talladega. I bought mainly by looking at the photo but the description clearly says the color is rose red. I like it now, but initially I was very upset. It is a terrific rebloomer and blooms for such a very long time. Wispy Rays is one of my favorite reds - good to know that several of you really enjoy it too. Here is a photo of it from this past summer.

Those are really beautiful, Ann. And unfortunately at the time I purchased TALLADEGA through the Lily Auction I didn't know about the AHS database or even who the hybridizer was. It wasn't until the next spring when it bloomed that I checked out the description and saw the "rose red" -- Ah yes, live and learn! And I'm glad you mentioned that RED BALLS OF FIRE is your most intense red -- I'll have to explore that one further! KAREN STEPHENS looks very nice to me, too -- and I'm getting more and more excited about WISPY RAYS with every picture you guys show!

I was headed toward the pinks and orange colors and now have expanded into the reds as I just love them. I have several I hope to see bloom next year. Had a few this year but they were 1st. year and not overly impressive. Hope they are as nice as these as they are beautiful. I am checking out that Red Balls Of Fire too,.

I just love reds, but then realized that 90% of my DLs were red so I am expanding into other colors. In fact I have one small garden, that only has reds in it. I call it my "Go Big Red" garden, and in fact, keep a football themed garden gnome in there . This thread has given me lots of ideas for more reds ~ Jan

Lyle I want a piece of Rosie Meyer. What can I give you in exchange. Oh I do happen to have some awesome seedlings you might be interested in.
Love the combo of the red/yel with the red. So bright and cheery.
