It's really hard for me to pick a favorite because I love them all. But here is one of my favorites. And I don't even know it's name. I've had this one for about 5 years. It really makes a big change in color by the end of Winter. Picture taken Oct 09

I find it amazing on how much some of them can change color with seasons and soil conditions.

Like you, I love em all! But one of my favorite is Pacific Zoftic. I like how fuzzy it is. This picture was taken in June.

Goldfinch those a wonderful, and look your in zone 4. Aren't the fuzzy ones great? Goes to show you how hardy these are. : ) I just looked at the close-ups. Wow. I love seeing the detail.
We are in the process of building a real Database, hope to have it launched sometime this week. Would love for you to post these in it and any others you may have. You will have alot of fun using it.
I love that you put the date picture was taken. Many people don't realize how different each Cultivar can look from season to season. Will be great to eventually have each Cultivar with pictures from the 4 seasons.
Thank you so much for posting.

Right now my favorite is the sweet little Maigret. She is tiny and oh so cute.

S. 'Lady Kelly' has turned into one of my very favorite semps. The year round coloring is beautiful and distinctive. It is also a heavy producer of offsets and takes all ups and downs of PNW weather with out any problems.

Sharpening my trading pencil! Drooling Lady Kelly and P. Zoftic look really fine. My Maigret does not stay too small though

My Maigret only gets about 1 1/2 to 2". It is still one of my favorites. : )
I will have plenty of Lady Kelly to send you twit. Big Grin
Look at the different color changes she goes through. Hen and Chicks (Sempervivum 'Lady Kelly')

Sorry, Lynn, I misunderstood. I usually don't consider anything to be small that is over an inch or so. My Maigret is about the same size as yours. I agree

I think that's just because of Lynn's swollen green thumb. She does like to show it off! Whistling

I guess I think of Maigret as being small (not to be confused with very small), because so many of mine are large, or really large. Rolling my eyes.

Okay, I'll share my secret on how to grow them.
1. Plop them out in the elements and let them sink or swim (the swimming part applies to the PNW). Sticking tongue out
2. I don't fertilize (It surprises me that they are so plump, you'd think they would be all skinny from lack of food.) Shrug!

I think you also have a longer growing season, since you are able to work with them already. We had 10 degrees this week with snow.

You are probably right about the growing season twit. Semps start growing in much cooler conditions than most of my garden plants.
This has been a particularly warm winter for us.

I don't know why but it developed babies after I cut off the bloom head.

What an exciting thing to see Charleen. We sure owe twit our gratitude for teaching us this method. It seems to have worked on almost all of them that I loped off last year.
Good job Charleen. Group hug

YEAH for twit. Hurray!

I have to agree with you. Each day it seems another one catches my attention and I find my self thinking it is the most beautiful. Sticking tongue out
