Hubby designed and built these raised veggie beds and then added an arbor at one end.


A couple of weeks later he added the copper pipes between the poles.



The trellis is planted on the right side with a rose (Autumn Sunset)

together with a purple clematis, Ashva


and 2 cup 'n saucer (Cobaea scandens) vines on the left side, one green and one purple. (still to bloom)

Fabulous! And made unique by the copper pipes.

I agree! Your raised beds are fabulous!!! Some of the prettiest I've seen. The trellis adds charm to your raised beds.

Beautiful, and very well made and designed. That is such a
neat idea. Much better than trying to maintain the wrought iron
ones we have, which are a real headache every year.

I have to finish removing the frost damaged cup 'n saucer and have a sweet pea to plant in it's place. Ready for spring!

WOW, That whole system is just gorgeous. Love the Rose and Clem combo. The cup and saucer isn't something that I have seen in our area. I will be looking that up. It is a beautiful plant.

Tee, it's a chipped wood mulch we get at our local composting place. Nice and cushy.

It looks wonderful. I want something like that for some paths and surfaces. I guess I'll scout around to see what I might (hopefully) find here.

Oh yes ... the rest of your project looks good too, but you know how it is when you're hunting for something ... you tend to notice that first thing.

We use to lay old carpet down and put mulch on top of it. Works pretty well for pathways. Keeps the mulch from sinking into the ground. Ric would stop when he saw carpet sitting outside for trash pick up.

That is a good idea, Holly. I am still mad at myself for not being able to get the old roof shingles when my next door neighbors had their new roof put on last year. Those make a great base for mulch or gravel walkways, etc. And I wouldn't have had to move them very far. But, alas, it was not to be. I like the idea of the carpet though. Excellent alternative.

Nope, he hates wine and whine. I do like the mulch idea too. The neighbors above us on the hill have a wall and the rain shoots over the wall and kills my tiny grass bed with mud. I've been trying to think of a way to keep the grass and keep the neighbors. Maybe I should just take out the grass and use mulch there. We can get it free from the city. What's a little more whine.

Free is good! That's what I need to find, contact a few tree trimmers.
