Yes, as Daisy said, willows really root easily. We had a big long corkscrew pruning piece spontaneously take root in my daughter's garden one year. I had just used it as a stake for another plant so sadly, instant tree where we didn't really want it. It must have been 5ft. long. So I do think you just "stick them" in the ground or a pot, and keep them watered.
