Are there two plants in that pot or just one? It resembles a prayer plant in the front of the pot, but the stems at the back don't.

Hmmm, if it's all one plant, then I don't think it's a prayer plant. At least, I've never seen thick stems like that on one. Maybe someone else can identify it. It certainly does look like it needs some TLC!

Please send a photo of the plant/stem in the back. I think that is the big clue to an ID.

The little healthy leaf in the last two photos look a bit like Philodendron, one of the heading types.

What happened to it? Too much sun? Or left out in the cold? Either of which it will recover from with some loving care, but it does look like it might want some fertilizer. Half strength to start since it's recovering from trauma. . .

Sure, should not be a problem for you, and it will both clean the air and make some oxygen for you in your bedroom.

Just be sure to keep it near a window, not in direct sun, but so that it gets good light at least.

Here are pictures of my Philo 'Prince of Orange' that I thought had similar leaves (although mine are red, of course).

I don't see any cataphylls that a self-heading Philodendron would have. Compare to Aglaonema modestum.
