Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Along the Way')

This is a solid performing, tall and large in-your-face daylily. It multiplies vigorously and blooms prolifically. The color is a bit variable...sometimes apricot, sometimes peach, sometimes almost tangerine, but always pretty. It looks really good in combination with Razzmatazz. This was one of my first daylilies and is still one of the best.

I bought this from Seawright Daylily Farm at least fifteen years ago. Don Stevens started the Seawrights and they inherited all his stock so I almost bought this from the original hybridizer.

The flower is nice, a sturdy healthy plant that was bred for this climate ( 6 a/b).


Mine is in a shadier part of Daylily Hill but it still hangs in there and flowers for me.

Along the Way is a really pretty plant. I got quite a bit of bloom this year, 30 flowers on four fans. It bloomed from July 6-29. As has been mentioned, the color is quite variable but really lovely, unusual blends. It's been moved into a new bed at the bottom of the yard and seems to be happy there.

2023 update…plenty of activity on this lovely and changeable flower this summer…it bloomed from July 10- August 2nd with about 20 blooms.
