I will come across the package in the seeds or see it in my notes eventually , hopefully , I am not going to get stressed out about a cabbage green . Confused
it is interesting , and like some , a durable forage green , which may of been it's purpose , to begin with , Like a self sow mustard and radishes and turnips have always been here in NA

I have all those as forage .
including Burdock , Kale, garlic 2or3 types. nettle . dandelion , 3 types , violets wild . thistle that could be edible , and mints 4 types ,, all tea plants , oh , and alfalfa , chickweed . 2 types .. on and on ,, I don't do onion tea .. but I have those also ,, etc .
I might let a few seeds drop from that , only to see if it self sows ..

Found a jug full of Romaine , from winter sowing , just befre dark .. planted it all also ,, hardly rained so far .. suppose to , luck and weather .. my ,, my ,,,

I don't have much results..... I have a yellow lupine that blossomed, a snap pea, and 1 gladstone onion in my milk jugs. I planted a variety of lettuce and other cold crops in pots without lids and they are doing great. I planted my tomatoes and peppers in seed starters and have them in a mini greenhouse. We got 20" of snow last weekend so I had to cover everything and bring the greenhouse inside. I hope they have time to catch up!!!

I went outside to take inventory since I can finally get to my plants lol Here is what I got from this swap that has sprouted so far:

Bloomsdale Spinach

Hopefully more will start to grow Smiling But looking at my list I didn't plant many that I got from this swap. I have some more milk jugs and other containers to fill to start planting Hurray! I also have a mini greenhouse now that is exciting!! I'm afraid I started my tomatoes and peppers too late Crying I will just have to see how this season goes since Colorado has some very weird weather!

@jimard8 I think your small iris may just be a daylily! I know you got seeds from me. My iris seedlings look a lot scrawnier than the daylilies. They start off slow but will take off pretty soon now that it's warming up. Can't wait to see a bloom!

Elena I have Daylily starts from the past three seasons also , It is always interesting to see what might happen , One that has never bloomed , is very large this year so far , and it looks like a pineapple , one of the thorned types , only one like that I have gotten ,,
One of my trays of daylily seeds the cat kittens got into ,

That litte spike leaf could be a Blackberry lily , an iris , a daylily , one ot others like bulbous ,, it is tiny yet ,

I've got 2 daylily seedlings from 2014 that still haven't bloomed for me also. Last year they looked kinda puny compared to the ones that bloomed. This year they are looking huge so I'm hoping they bloom.

I have no idea what they will look like though. I had planted 3 different crosses in January and twice that winter a starling flew into the house and knocked over all the cups I was sowing the seeds in! If it's not cats, it's birds!

I also have seedlings grown last year but I doubt they will bloom this year. But maybe one will surprise me!

Nice, Jim!

Do you eat just the mustard greens, or do you actually make homemade mustard (the condiment), too? I'm curious how laborious making mustard from mustard seed is. I'm not interested in trying it this year, but it might be a trial project for a future year.

D&D I usually only eat greens , I did make a small glass of mustard years ago , takes a lot of process .

I had a Tithonia sprout this morning A small root of red sorghum still trying to break the seed ,

Weather playing tricks , hot to cold ,, hot weather plants just now started and it turned cold ,,
Had a few red Kale show from self sow ,,

The garden ,
red Mustard
Spinach mustard
Black mustard
common Garden Mustard
Tatsoi Mustard
boil them most of the time I do , most taste terrible ,, Basil , chocolate mint , buffers the taste ,

My greenhouse was knocked over by the wind yesterday.....and it dumped most of my dirt from my seedling trays. Crying I put the dirt back into the trays the best I could now if any sprout it will be a surprise plant! At least my hubby is wonderful and will buy what needs to be replaced Lovey dubby I have the greenhouse hiding out in the garage until I can figure out how to anchor it down.

This is for anybody who got a pack of my Forget-me-not, Victoria Pink. My plants reseeded and are now blooming. Out of about 15 plants one has blue flowers. This is the first year I'm seeing this. So you may end up with some pink flowered plants but also some blue flowered ones too. *Blush*
