just joined - so here is an image of my windswept garden in France . This is a 'jardin sec' or dry garden ie no watering system. we rely on the winter and spring rains and after May we may not have any rain until September or October. all the plants have to love the alkaline soil, find their feet quick and get their roots down to reach their own water. after 10 years or trial and error we have a fantastic range of plants both Mediterranean and from northern Europe, and elsewhere that have survived and thrived! grasses, roses, bulbs, phlomis, lavenders, santolinas, euphorbias, salvias, thymes, cistus annuals, irises etc; Enjoy!
