Made a trip over to Dothan today and while over there stopped by for the first time to a local daylily vendor, new to this location.
I had five plants on my list but we only managed to find three of them. It is so early in the season things are not all sorted out yet.
Anyhow, for it being so early I thought the plants looked pretty good, not huge but as you can see nice sized plants.

How much fun was that. I hope to see your Planet Max this year. I am not a fan of UF's but this one intrigues me as from the pictures I've seen it always seems to be a mass of unfading blooms. Let's see what a hot climate will do for it?........Maryl

Larry - What nice big beds you have for your dayliliies! They should do terrific there. Can't wait to see your bloom photos in the near future, Thumbs up

Maryl - I acquired Planet Max late last year and am curious to see how it does in Central FL.

If either of you post pictures in the general mess of monthly blooms this summer I may well miss it. I hope you post pictures and give reviews in a separate post. It really has me intrigued. As I don't like UF's as a rule, it had best have a lot of other attributes going for it (colorfast/profuse blooms etc.). Most don't rebloom here, so that's not that big a deal, as long as when it does bloom it's really eye catching for most of the day........Maryl

'Planet Max' is listed as spider form, not as a UF, still no matter what form it is I certainly hope to post some photos of the blooms later in the year.

What's there not to like about UFs, most UFs fade less and tolerate the heat better than round flowers here. Just asking, maybe I should change directions.

Maryl - I didn't like uf's and spiders either until I acquired several of them. The size, how unique looking they were, and even the foliage won me over pretty darn quickly. I am also a hobby hybridized and they can sure create some awesome seedling blooms. For me they are a game changer in look when hybridizing. Thumbs up

Well, I am not even a hobby hybridizer, but I just wanted some plants with a different look about them. A few bigger blooms, a few spiders, etc. I just wanted to add a little variety.
