No bwv998. I learnt my lesson years ago about ignoring my antivirus software!

The old saying is true — prevention is better than cure. Getting malware out of a computer is an awful experience.

So sorry to hear that his website got hacked! Didn't he have backups?

I finally got to make a trip up to Curt's the other day and his plants are awesome... You all should see the possible future releases, Seedlings and even the plants that will likely be getting composted!

Not only did I get to meet Curt, but also get to meet Dan Hansen (Ladybug Daylilies out of Florida) and Sunny (Sunday) was also up there! Down right awesome group of people!!!

There are actually a number of Dan's plants up at Curt's garden. He sends them up there to test them out against our Northern Ohio weather and they seem to do really well up there in zone 5a. Buy the way.. If you contact him he will gladly tell you which plants have done well in colder regions and which ones have not. Plus he guaranties his plants!

There were lots of plants I would have liked to have brought home, but my budget is very very small. Still I did ended up with a fan of Sigourney for me to try and work with next year.

Needless to say.. Buy from Curt and/or Dan and you will not be disappointed! They are both top notch growers!

And for those who were wanting to know.. I was told that all of Curt's daylilies were tetraploid. (Edit: I am told he had at least one Diploid intro sometime in the past, so maybe he could have a few tucked in a dark corner somewhere?)

Curt and Dan are long time close friends. I used to live in FL met Curt when he came down for Dan's BBQ at the opening of the Mecca weekend in May. He's a nice guy and was very generous in helping me as a beginner hybridizer.

Did Curt manage to fix his site? (Don't visit it if you're not sure.) Sucuri says the site's fine now, not exactly sure whether that's true.

It appears to be restored when I look at the website. I can see his 2016 Fall intros.

I visited the site about 10 days ago and could see everything on his web site, but my Windows 10 found and destroyed something obtained there identified as "Trojan" malware. Sad to see something like this happen....I LOVE Curt Hanson daylilies. If anyone knows for sure if the site has been cleared in the last 10 days, please post.

What anti-virus are you using? Do you know the name of the trojan? May not be from there …

If you're scared you can use MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. If/once you've installed MBAM, go to settings then "Detection and Protection". Make sure you enable "Scan for Rootkits", "Scan within Archives", and "Use Advanced Heuristics Engine (Shuriken)." Also make sure that MBAM treats PUPs and PUMs as malware. (It's on the same menu.)

(You may want to create a system restore point before doing anything, just in case MBAM comes up with false-positives. Anyway always quarantine, before deletion, if possible.)
