In Western WA, We broke the record for the wettest meteorological winter ever. It was a warmer ,wetter winter. My daffodils are done blooming, My Weeping Cherry Tree is almost done blooming. Daylilies are much bigger at this time than in the last 4 years. All the deciduous trees have green growth.

Weeping Cherry with new fence being built behind it, and the neighbors lawn needs mowing LOL

When I got up at 7:30 this morning it was 48 so we will wait a little while before going out to add some dirt to my new bed. They are calling for a high of 66F. It is sunny so I would not be surprised if it gets hotter than that.

Weird weather here! Two days ago, it was 67, and beautiful out, so I spent the day playing in the dirt. Hurray! Yesterday was 61, with a brief thunderstorm in the afternoon, but not much rain with it. Between 11:00 last night and 6:00 this morning, we had 1.34 inches of rain. Then at 6:00, it changed to snow. Here in Western CT, we got about 2 inches of snow yesterday and it was gone by afternoon. It is supposed to be in the 50's to low 60's for the next week with some occasional rain.

Wow, Natalie that is really weird weather in your area. We have had one of the grayest Marches that I can remember, not much in the way of precipitation , just overcast and cold, maybe a sprinkle once in awhile. Thumbs down

Near 50f today with a cold strong wind, decided to stay in and work on more of the spring cleaning. More flurries or rain coming through tonight/tomorrow.
Pretty weeping cherry DancingGenes, I so wanted one , not hardy this far north so I settled for a weeping crabapple. Nothing here has buds or green yet. The sap is still running, it is looking like it was a really good year for maple syrup. Yum.

Signet, are you far enough SW that you are out of the freezing rain warning that is in effect for SW Ontario (or the winter storm warning a bit above that)? We have a winter storm watch here thus far, while they figure out the track. Potentially copious amounts of snow on top of last night's snowfall of 3" (ground was bare before that), and/or freezing rain. Double Sighing! Sighing!

I woke up to about 2 inches of snow on the ground, and significantly more is expected on Thursday! I hope that this 2 inches melts before the next blast of winter tomorrow. Where I am, there are still mounds of old snow and old snow out under the trees. I am in a forested area, so it takes longer for the snow to melt in spring. In more open areas, the snow has mostly melted, except where there are mounds left from snowplowing. I was hoping for an early spring this year after the past two hard winters we suffered through, but it doesn't look like that is going to happen Angry

The weather watch says they're still not sure of the exact track, but latest indications are that most of Eastern Ontario will get at least 10 to 15 cms (4-6") of snow, then a period of ice pellets and freezing rain which may last for several hours. This storm originated in Colorado - you Americans have a lot to answer for Hilarious!

I think I may have to stay in bed tomorrow with the blankets over my head. Maybe my husband will bring up soup and toast to help me survive Rolling on the floor laughing
