It does resemble Broadleaf Plantain, Plantain (Plantago major) which is found in Oregon. More photos at these links for comparison:

More likely Ribwort Plantain (Buckhorn plantain) - Plantago lanceolata ..

Mine too, I've been encouraging them in my garden. Platycheirus and Melanostoma love them.

Just asking here, is this a "plaintain" as in a banana-like fruit? If so, I thought they grew on trees? No?

Plantain that you eat do grow on banana trees. This is a garden variety weed (or wildflower), depending upon how you feel about them. Actually, I would put both (banana plantain and weed plantain) in the same category.

Cheryl, the Plantain (Banana) fruit tree is in the Musa genus: http://garden.org/plants/searc...
