I'll delete the one in the generic entry. Thank you, Leslie, for finding this.

I was confused at first too but now I see that the photo was moved from the generic entry to the entry for Salvia lanceolata. Green Grin! Lovely Salvia by the way! Lovey dubby

No, it had been posted in the species entry and the generic entry. It was a duplicate. We delete duplicate photos.

Sorry for the confusion. I happened to look through the generic salvia entry and noticed some that I recognized and then looked at there entry and saw the same photos. I thought the generic entry was for the noids only. I tip my hat to you.

It is only for unidentified or unnamed plants of the genus, Leslie. You're right.

I thought when we first started doing that, it was because we did not have a strong datbase up and going and the generic, or plant family genus was an open ended thing...my memory is probably dying....LOL....I think I entered quite a few salvias under that guise back then...

There were a few of yours in there Sherry that I recognized but S. lanceolata wasn't in COL until last year and then it was added to the db. I think you've remembered rightly. I tip my hat to you.

I think I remember someone saying that the general entry database location was the place to upload our photos if we didn't know the particular species or cultivar and if someone came along and recognized it, they could move it, or ask an administrator to move it over to the correct database entry. Some of my plants have been recognized, identified and moved to the correct spot. Smiling

I haven't looked at those files in a number of years and don't remember why we had that....LOL....being as I knew what the plants were that I posted pics of there, seems it was just a place to post generic pics if there was not already a spot for it in the database...truth be told, I don't even know where those pics are to be found.
