It is growing in two or three areas of garden. Looks weedy but never saw it before. Anyone know what it's called?

I believe that is one of many varieties of Ranunculus.
Possibly Ranunculus pusillus.

Looking though photos online and I don't think leaves are right for R. pusillus.
