Great photo Bonnie!

Hi guys and gals! Thought this year it might be nice to have a separate thread for each type of iris. That way it is easier for us all to go back and hunt down that iris "I saw in one of these threads, but where is it?" Big Grin

So suggested threads would include:

Dwarfs - here! I am including Standard and Miniatures together since I am not sure how many of us grow miniatures.
Border Bearded
Miniature Tall Bearded
Intermediates
Siberians
Japanese
Louisianas
Pacific Coast (don't look Rob!)

Do we have enough for separate threads of techtorum, cristata, sanguinia, dutch, etc? If not - we can have a Everything else thread.

What do you think?

well, I usually start a thread so I can keep track not only of which ones of mine has bloomed but at what time and that goes for all sizes. If I put dwarfs on one thread, medians on another and TB's on another I will be hopping about trying to sort mine out and find dates to build an iris log. That being said I can post here when I remember to and I will love looking at a thread of just the little guys. So, keep em coming. smiles.......

I did that too Bonnie. I just thought a thread by type might get more participation by others than if I just post all my blooms. Your feedback is good.

Sorry -- I got company this morning, and just now catching up again.

I'll be happy to post however y'all decide......the only thing I thought is this: most of us don't grow a lot of variations (for sure I don't), so some of those threads might be very thin. Maybe we could combine some of the varieties rather than break them down so specifically -- maybe *little guys*, *medium guys* and *big guys*? And combine the really exotic ones that most of us cannot or do not grow?

It's going to be a while before I have anything to add to this thread, other then my comments to your posts. I understand that we're to have another polar vortex during April, so that might slow things down a bit. But if you wait, I'll add some when they get here. nodding

I see what you are talking about,Tom. Looks like we stay above freezing here in KC, but the Dakotas' and the Great Lakes will be pretty darn cold. Hope your plants fair well thru it all.

The thread will be around. The California crowd has blooms, and the south is starting, so I expect that things will filter in as bloom times change by region.

Mary Ann - I wonder too if we all have enough of the different medians. I can see sticking the MTB's, IB's and BB's together.

About the only one for me would be the tall bearded. I don't have Keith blacks, bourseen (not sure of spelling), etc. I am still fairly new to having a lot of variety I could do a California one or a SoCal..

But that is the nice thing about threads with different iris. I never thought of many of these even existing, but then I got to see all these pictures of iris on ATP and I began choosing the iris that fit my taste.

I know you have Ninja Turtles, so you are already have a foot in the door Richard. Smiling

Leslie, what about ones we have already posted on the 2016 Bloom thread or the What Did You Do... Thread? Do you want those here, as well?

If you have some more shots of the iris, why not! We never grow tired of new pics.

And those of you who post your bloom seasons on cubits - post some pics here too. Many of the members here either don't have cubits membership, or, like me, don't often have time to follow both sites.
