I have a couple of questions for Trish and Dave. Do you guys use heat mats when germinating your seeds and how long do you keep them on? Do you turn the heat off as soon as the seeds sprout?
Thanks!

We always use heat mats for pepper seeds. It makes a huge difference in speeding up the germination. We don't always use heat mats for tomato seeds, mostly because the heat mats are all in use for the peppers! Hilarious! They would definitely be helpful, though.

As soon as they germinate, I would immediately remove them from the heat mats.
