How many members grow Amaryllis in their gardens? Are they blooming now or about to bloom? Do you have photos?
Looking for plants to share and would love to see photos of everyone's gardens and maybe a little intro. Suggestions for ideas of things to share in the forum would be very welcome. What are your favorite plants, do you grow flowers, vegetables, do you specialize in any particular plants? We will need interesting info to keep the forum going. Love the photo over on the right of the Magnolia in bloom.

Larry in 2-3 days I should have my first one bloom. I bought several in fall of '14 and they also have their first scapes. I'm very excited, I thought I was going to have all this strappy foliage and no blooms to show for it. I'll post photos as they bloom, noids and named.
I love spring! Thumbs up

We have been gone another week now, should be home later today, and I can't wait to get back and see how many of mine are blooming. I was told we have had some pretty rough weather so I am just hoping they have not all blown over.

Hope you and Betty are home by now. I stayed with my son and family in Wetumpka last night, had Easter with them. Drove home in the nasty weather, glad to be out of all that. My amaryllis looks like it has grown a half foot since I left. It's got to bloom before I go back to work Friday! Confused

Glad you made it back safe in the rain, we just arrived at 5:00 and I could see the blooms down in the garden as I pulled into the garage. This is my best year ever for Amaryllis, now I wish I had more different varieties, but I do have some different ones ready to bloom, some solid red, and another color I am not quite sure of in the full sun beds. None of the ones in the Shade beds are blooming yet, but it won't be long before they start. I was afraid with all the rain many of them would have been blown down to the ground, but only a few were laying down on the ground. The great majority of them were standing tall holding up themselves very well.
Only a few were blown over or completely down.

This year I have so many beautiful clumps instead of the mostly all the singles I had last year, and it seems to me there are more of them altogether.

Tons more photos I could show, but there are still many more yet to open in the full sun beds, and all the ones are yet to open in the shade beds.

I just missed another bloom on my 'Ming Porcelain' daylily, but it still has a few more buds left on it.

It looks like a bright yellow NOID decided to join the blooming party while I was gone. This one snuck in on me, I was actually expecting a different NOID to be the next to bloom.

Most of my Azalea blooms seem to have been knocked off while I was gone, but I hope to get a few photos later in the week. My Dogwoods are not yet blooming, each year I hope to get the Dogwoods, the Azaleas, and the Bridal Wreath blooming at the same time, but it never seems to happen that way.

Drooling What a wonderful display of the amaryllis, all the same color! Magnificent! Your roses all look so healthy, not the first sign of black spot. Your ferns and tomatoes, well Mr Mulchman you've done a great job. Thumbs up

Kabby, is there any way you can carry your amaryllis to work with you, so that you can still enjoy the bloom? Whistling

Larry, I wish I could see your yard in bloom. I bet it is amazing. I love the amaryllis clumps and the roses are beautiful.:nodding: I agree Sonia is very nice. Lovey dubby

Ahh...photos can be deceiving. But the flowers are beautiful, but my garden is not a designer type knock you socks off type garden. It will probably impress nobody but me, because I realize all the work I put into it... it just doesn't show. I don't have a lot of money to put into my garden, and not a creative bone in my body, so my garden is more like a vegetable garden only with flowers...maybe I can spin that into being a unique creative original type of gardening way ahead of its time that only the more sophisticated can appreciate. But... my wife knows it is just an example of a man's way of doing things.

Well, it may take a few hours of driving but I think it may be time to go raid Seedfork's garden while he is sleeping. We can just blame it on his mysterious, digging "critter" when those Amaryllis disappear from his garden! Green Grin! Hilarious!

Joking aside, those are just lovely, Larry! Big Grin

I do have traps set, not sure what the digger critter could be ...Bear perhaps? Tread lightly.

I have some Amaryllis but they'll be a few weeks before the blooms are up. Those look great!

Yes, a spot that gets a few hours of sun in the AM, in my Mom's yard. After they bloom this year, I'm moving most of them to my yard. (They were put @ Mom's 2 yrs ago because when we moved, there was only grass here, no garden beds.)
