I have a couple of these sprouting up in one of my beds. I did sow a lot of native plants last year, and am wondering if this is an invasive thug that I need to get rid of, or a native groundcover that I should keep for the critters, winged and otherwise. Any ideas?

well, I got an answer: it is Golden Groundsel, Packera aurea!

thanks, Janet--I agree--it would not have occurred to me that the purple buds will open as yellow flowers! Looking forward to it!
