Alright, I didn't mean to post this since I don't really care for this tree (or any conifer in particular, I "hate" them) but the problem is as follows: this tree that's been in our garden for decades now is loosing "needles" fast. And I don't mean individual needles like all conifers do, but like the branch tips. Every week I rake dozens of them that have fallen all around; it's a complete mess. And it's not like they're usefull; they don't compost very well and I don't want to use them as a mulch, they're ugly.
I never noticed it past years since I wasn't paying any particular attention to it nor was I into gardening at that point. The only reason I can think of as a cause is that with the build of the shed we cut quite a few thick roots not far from the trunk for the foundation and walls. So perhaps it can't support all this growth? But that was two years ago....
