We had a surprisingly happy New Year's eve. We first went to watch the fireworks with a gathering of friends, which was completely as expected; nice people, noisemakers, silly hats, good snacks. We had then agreed to show up briefly at a party for which a co-worker had invited us. I had not been to their place before. I loved the multigenerational feel of the event (helped by a large house where many different things were happening in various areas) and the easy way in which we were both warmly accepted by a large group of people (50+) of which we only knew one person when we walked in the door. We ended up staying until just after midnight and had a great time with the feeling of having made new friends. Thumbs up

Congratulations on all those anniversaries. We'll celebrate our 44th in six weeks.

Sorry, Sandy. I warned you about Bama. Now aren't you glad you don't play them every single year like my MSU does. Whistling I just got home from Charlotte, NC a few minutes ago. We won big over NC State, and it really was more a home-game for them. Unfortunately we had rain the entire game. I got back to the hotel wet but happy.

I am happy for a DH (48th wedding anniversary yesterday), a good son who invited us to share a house with them here in AL, a wonderful little dog (although a bit kooky in his own way), and plenty of good food (more than is good for us). Compared to much of the world, we are rich in good fortune.

This is pretty exciting for me... one of the amaryllis that I bought last fall (2014, that is) from Bert/Touch of Nature is sending up a new flower stalk -- I've never been able to get an amaryllis to rebloom in the past! LOL, I have 5 more bulbs that I got at the same time, so now I'm encouraged that maybe I can get them to keep flowering as well. I know I didn't manage them quite right in terms of dormancy, but it looks like they are going to grow in spite of my ignorance. Which is pretty much what all of my plants have to do Rolling on the floor laughing

Hello Everyone! Happy New Year! It has been so long since I have been able to post on ATP that I feel like a complete stranger. It has been a long miserable Summer and crazy Fall and Winter. I am still getting Physical Therapy and at 87 it takes a long time to heal the injuries I was blessed with July 1st. I have two more weeks of PT and I am so excited. I will have to do exercises at home and walk with a cane to be sure I am o.k. until my balance is back to normal. I will no doubt never be back to normal (what is that?) but just to be able to walk and take Charle walks again will be all my prayers answered. I am so happy to be here again and hope you are all well and happy in this crazy world today. Lovey dubby Thumbs up
