That is why it can be very confusing if you loose ID tags. To bad we just can't tatoo them. Rolling on the floor laughing Or maybe put little miniature chips in them. Whistling

Before cubits.org, I thought all hen and chicks
(didn't know they had another name) were
either green or gray. It's astounding what
one can learn by 'point and click' !!!!!

I still want a fountain full of them, like the picture
from CA.

That is a beautiful fountain! I'd love to do something like that too.

I couldn't find the link to the post but I copied the picture from my saved emails. I hope it will post here. If not, I can forward the email to you. It was at the Petaluma, CA garden place. Someone had visited there and took pictures to post here.

Yes, I remember them now. They do make your heart sing, don't they.
Here are a couple more links to other sites here in Cubits. Both contain some really great ideas on container plantings.

The thread "Sedum pluricaule" in Sedum forum
Have fun. : )

That was the picture I was trying to copy with this:Thumb of 2010-07-27/BlueFox/f74503

Can you guess what it is? Okay, I'll tell you - it's two satellite dishes painted with my signature blue, with old stump pieces between them.

That is very cleaver Jacki. Now it just needs to have some sedum trailing over the side to mimic water. Thumbs up I love it.

I love using wacky salvaged stuff to make cool planters for all the great Sempervivum and others. By the way, I did plant one of my absolute all time favorite Sedum pluricaule to eventually trail over, but it's a very well behaved and shy little guy. Maybe in a couple of years...

Is it in the above picture Jacki? My eyes aren't what they used to be so it isn't very clear to me. Sounds wonderful.

Lynn the Sedum pluricaule is at about 8 o'clock on the lower tier. Do you want a database entry? I was going to wait until it blooms which it does with great exuberance in about two to four weeks from now (it's just making flower buds now).

I would love to have you add it to the database in both stages so we can see both. Can't wait to see it.
Would love to have any entries of sedum and semps you have.

Okay, I'll get some pics today. I love the blooms - the plant itself is tiny, each leaf only about 1/4 inch long, and the plant gets completely covered with magenta pink huge blooms. Very pretty, and very underused. I guess the reason is that it's slow to get to any size, and also it's deciduous, so looks like a tiny bundle of sticks until late in the spring when it finally buds out.

Does it bud out on the old wood/sticks Jacki?

Oh yes, definitely. It only seems to flower on fairly established older growth, which I will check out in more detail as it blooms.

I can't wait to see everything about this plant. I'm going to see if I can copy and paste this over to the Sedum Form. Please post the pictures over there, it will be easier for those looking for new, interesting sedum to add to their collections. Thumbs up
Actually what might work even better is for you to just start posting the pictures in the Sedum Forum Chat thread. Then we can put a link here to it. : )
