One can also buy Bt in granules. Rather than dunks, it is not "quantized" and it makes it easier to treat smaller water features. Breaking up dunks and dis-aggregating them is a messy and less than enjoyable. The granules are cheaper by weight too. HD does not carry the granules, I found mine at Meadows Farms.

HD had the granules until 2 years ago. Don't know why they stopped carrying them???
I always wonder if someone ate them and got sick or something.
I watched them get reduced, lower and lower, and bought about 4 bottles of them.
Wish I had gotten more.... Crying HD still carries the 'donut" ones.

Hubby and I went to the Huntsville Botanical gardens today, picked up some lovely annuals for a planter and peppers for hubby, I always think about you, Critter/Jill when I see peppers :thank you: We have an absolutely awesome botanical garden and they are expanding it now, they do a really great job - lots of classes, lots of arrangements - we use it often Thumbs up

Ordered from a nursery in Louisiana, Almost Eden, that I used in VA quite a bit, I forgot how incredible his plants are & they arrived today, well packaged, very healthy and great sized for the price - can absolutely recommend

Yes, It sure is great to hear from both of you.
Ric and I are finally done traveling (well at least till Aug) I think Hilarious! . We got home from Mexico and we had a great time. We will be posting pics later. I have to say that the yard sure was a welcoming sight. In the 2 weeks we were gone the yard has burst into bloom. We spent the first 1/2 hr home just looking at the beds and GH to see what was out there. Pictures of the gardens will be posted as well later. I
I started reading all the posts I had missed while we were gone but it is just too much so I am sure that I will not get caught up on everything that happened while we were gone. Good to be home.

The start of my new "Eden" is getting closer! I cannot wait for them to start, fire pit, grilling area, swing and plants/trees! I am drooling over some tree selling sites, anyone better than others?

Chantell and I have come full circle, we started out with cactus and succulents, we are now back to cactus and succulents - the other day I got a picture texted to me, the hated straw flowers glues on cactus!! Rolling on the floor laughing The caped avenger is back and she is at war with all the glued straw flowers!

Has anyone ever ordered from "Fast-Growing-Trees" in SC? They come highly recommended on DG, with a few negatives - which I tend to skim over

OMG, I hadn't seen the little cacti with dyed spines before.

I haven't ordered from that company, Becky, but if you're thinking of fruit trees, remember StarkBros. I've ordered from Miller Nursery before for strawberries and berry bushes, but I think Starkbros has increased their selection of "small fruits" in recent years, so one order might do for all. I also ordered a pair of pecan trees from Nolin River nursery in KY... great folks... they have a good selection of hazelnuts, too. They also have Peterson PawPaws listed on their website but seem to be sold out whenever I look.
We're all learners, doers, teachers.

Becky, you might want to look carefully at the accounts that leave positive reviews for that company. For years they had the worst reviews then all of a sudden, brand new accounts started leaving glowing reviews for them without interacting with the site in any other way. Now I'm really suspicious of these positive reviews. Glare If you look elsewhere on line you'll see some unhappy buyers.

buyer beware....esp with a cheesy name like fast growing trees.
If the prices are good, as an educated gardener it might be worth ordering one to see what the quality looks like.
But speaking as a gardener I am suspicious of a site that sells, mimosa (Albizia julibrissin), Norway maple, Paulownia = trash trees, and gives super glowing descriptions (Liriodendron as a flowering tree? Technically, yes, but on a 70 foot tall behemoth with weak wood?)
$95 plus extra shipping for a 5-6 foot norway maple?
Plant it and they will come.

Thanks, I was thinking the same myself, but, wanted your opinion - I have had luck with companies with bad reviews before...but, don't want to drop $100's on trees for them to be in sad condition

You would probably find better, cheaper trees at a local Home Depot, Lowes or garden center....

For specialty trees, you could try Forest Farm, Classic Viburnums, Rarefind Nursery, Broken Arrow.

I've been pleasantly surprised at the offerings and the variety at Lowe's, but even at HD, I was able to find a Chamaecyparis and Magnolia 'Jane.'
