A very deep purple with a green throat. It can be very nice, but has had its share of splotchiness here. I never noticed this at Ashwood gardens, so I have changed the plant location in my garden.

I just planted this last summer and am eager to see its performance. Splotchy ones get sent to the compost here!

What circumstance are you trying to modify by the change of location? What do you suspect the causes of the splotches are?

Blooming heavily for me this year and has not had one splotchy bloom. (so far!)
At this point it is a keeper on my list.

A. Still Night has only been here a couple of years, but has done great so far. Nice healthy looking fan, lots of blooms, I love the rich, dark color. I have not had a problem with splotchiness, an occasional spot, but surprisingly few for that dark color.

Ashwood still night has a beautiful velvet look in this very dark bloom. It is in its' 3rd season here and blooming at 15 bud count on 4 way branching. This is far below registered bud count but a very respectable number here in this third season in my zone. The height here is 28". It has never been splotchy, a rare thing in the very dark ones. It blooms mid season here. A keeper.
