Mark's been slowly filling up his new garage, starting with doing the entire electrical system wiring.
Then two nice workbenches. I was quite impressed. I see a potting bench in my future. In fact, the picnic table I have been using has a big crack in the leg, so...

He was excited to put a shelf by a window and give me a plant shelf. I didn't have the heart to 'splain how all my plants are out under trees etc to get rain now. I did have a spider plant from Gita, needed uppotting, so it's on the new shelf now. It should work nice for over wintering some things.

All this rain has been great for new grass around the garage, so it's quickly looking much better than the mud pit we've been looking at.
Plant it and they will come.

Robin - make a bog garden and grow interesting plants that require/prefer wet locations.

Do you have such a garden David? I seem to think you do. I wondered if bogs needs some natural flow, or other than truly stagnant water an undraning pond would make.
Plant it and they will come.

Some seepage is considered ideal, but a filled in pond liner works ok. I have a bog in a sunken pond liner and grow a number of plants in it such as Marsh Fern (Thelypteris palustris), Iris versicolor, Filipendula rubra, Mimulus ringens and several others. At a previous location I had a bog with pitcher plants, sundews, and Venus fly traps, really a lot of fun. There are a lot of plants that would relish Robin's site. My current bog has a few small holes drilled about 2 inches from the top at the slightly downhill end for excessive water to drain slowly past Swamp Milkweed, Joe Pye Weed, Marsh Mallow, Baptisia australis and Ostrich Fern. Best to fill with soil almost to the top of the liner so that water does not stand long and encourage mosquitoes.
