Well, now I have tomatoes, bell peppers planted. Yesterday I started my second planting of cucumbers being I lost all the first ones while I was gone. Now I need to plant a few squash seeds, anyone have any favorite varieties for the south east? What vegetables are others planting now or this season?

Oops, sorry! I have been so busy here, not posting much.

My tomatoes are in the ground, well about 40 with 20 more to plant next week. BUT, we are getting mid 30s this weekend so I have to cover. Thank goodness I didn't get brave and plant out my peppers yet. But someone I know said the wild blackberries are blooming and we'll have cold temps, a Blackberry winter. Then it is safe to plant out tender plants.

I planted my squash, cucumbers and melons about a week ago, in the greenhouse. Most have come up. Some were old seeds. But they did take over a week to pop through. I have beans growing in some guttering too. I planted some beans in the garden and they have started to germinate. I had to cover with straw and row cover for the cold.

I am going to try and plant some corn to see how it transplants too. I'll try anything to get a head start. Hilarious!

My potatoes are popping up too. Already need weeding cause I put them in a field that hasn't been planted much.

It is amazing at how far ahead of us you guys more south are. I am am sorta in the mid Atlantic region. Still this weather these past cold snaps seems to have swooped way low into even the southern regions. Let's have spring back!

Third night this week for freeze warnings here. Very cold for this time of year.

I started my own cucumber seedlings from seed this year. Most have already come up. But they would quickly die even during the daylight hours outside. That is how cold it is lately.

Yep, my basil is stressed, even in the greenhouse. Cold here tonight and to orrow then it looks like we're out of the woods.

Basil likes it warm.

I am tired of these freeze warnings for the overnights. Just hoping for the warmer weather pattern to return soon. Doesn't look like it will, at least not in the next few days.
